Tips for a clean cut-out

Light your face from the front. A window or lamp in front of you works better than one behind you. Strong backlight makes edges harder to find.
Wear something that stands out from your room. Contrast between you and your background helps the edges stay crisp.
Keep some space behind you. Sitting a little away from the wall gives the cut-out a cleaner outline.
Check it before you record. Hair, fast movement and low light can affect the result. If your laptop slows down, switch background removal off.

Questions about backgrounds

Does background removal upload my video?

No. It runs in your browser on your own computer. Your camera picture is never sent anywhere, and neither is your recording.

Do I need a green screen?

No. Recvela finds you in the picture automatically, so a normal room works. Good light in front of you helps.

Will it slow my computer down?

It runs in the background at up to 15 frames per second. Most recent laptops handle it well. On an older one, try Blur or switch it off if recording feels slow.

Is it free?
